Meet Ned. Ned likes to take pictures. Now Ned is the president of Pentax. He also has a blog... and that is what makes him a little different.Ned's blog isn't an official site for Pentax and he doesn't post on it all too often, but it is still a site I've kept in my bookmark bar ever since I found it. It is simply a testing ground for whatever he is working on, read by fans of the brand, Pentaxians. He has thrown up ads and asked for opinions, he's posted pictures with pre-production lenses, he talks about things before they happen, but perhaps most importantly... he listens.
Over the weekend, he posted an open response to a heated conversation on a digital photography message board. Someone was complaining about firmware upgrades, debug modes, and Pentax not giving a damn. Because Ned is an active participant in the conversations, he was able to respond. And he did it in an honest and natural way. Even though he didn't offer the news I was looking for, it made me even more of a fan of Pentax.
